Also on the way to IMAX, the last pre-release look at The Super Mario Bros Movie is here

Loaded up with Mario Kart action, a fire-powered Donkey Kong, and even a captive Luma, The Super Mario Movie can’t get here fast enough.

A-HA

I have zero objectivity on The Super Mario Movie, and I don’t feel bad in the slightest about admitting that. Illumination’s film adaptation of one of the greatest video game series’ of all time looks stupendously good, and every new trailer just reinforces that.

The latest also happens to be the final look at the film before it hits theaters, and it’s chucked. Want to see some Mario Kart stuff? It’s got that. How about Donkey Kong in action, setting Bowser’s forces on literal fire? Yep. Add to that a cameo by one of Mario Galaxy’s Luma, and you have a must-see.

While working underground to fix a water main, Brooklyn plumbers Mario (Chris Pratt; Jurassic World and The LEGO Movie franchises) and brother Luigi (Charlie Day; It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) are transported down a mysterious pipe and wander into a magical new world. But when the brothers are separated, Mario embarks on an epic quest to find Luigi.

Universal Pictures press release

With tickets on sale right now, The Super Mario Movie hits theaters next month, on April 5th. You won’t just be able to catch it in standard theaters though, as it’s also on the way to IMAX.

It sounds like there might be some additional Rainbow Road, Mario Kart action in the IMAX version of the film too. So if you have access to a theater, IMAX might be the way to go.
