Vault Comics to bring back the Double Feature with new Nightfall book

Now this is cool. Vault Comics is set to bring back a comics mainstay from days gone by, with the anthology series Nightfall: Double Feature.

Okay so 64 page comics aren’t exactly unheard of, but whole series’ of 64 page books? Yeah those kind of are. You just don’t find entire runs of chunky floppies, with two complete stories, especially from the big two.

And with that in mind, Vault Comics’ Nightfall imprint indeed does dig up the ‘double sized’ comic. And it marries that format to something that it’s been doing for a while, creating a new terrifying horror anthology series called Nightfall: Double Feature.

The creators behind House of Slaughter, The Autumnal, The Plot, and Resonant will all be included on this new book’s roster, which promises to be be delightfully old school.

Issue #1 includes:

    null
  • Feature one is THE CEMETERIANS, written by New York Times Best-Selling author Daniel Kraus (The Autumnal, The Shape of Water), drawn by Ringo Award nominee Maan House, colored by Kurt Michael Russell (The Plot, The Blue Flame), and lettered by Andworld Design. After human bones begin growing inside inanimate objects all across the globe, a renegade scientist and brilliant theologian delve into the cemeteries where the bones originated, discovering an otherworldly force tired of being buried in darkness.
  • Feature two is DENIZEN, written by Tim Daniel (The Plot, End After End) and David Andry (Resonant, End After End), drawn by Chris Shehan (House of SlaughterThe Autumnal), colored by Jason Wordie, and lettered by Jim Campbell.  A family’s cross country road trip goes off the map and into the unforgiving wilds of Joshua Tree National Park, when mom and wife-to-be Helene succumbs to a malevolent force tucked inside an abandoned camping trailer.

Featuring a trio of covers from Jason Shawn Alexander, Chris Shehan, & Maan House, Nightfall: Double Feature #1 hits stands in October. Just in time for Halloween.
