One of the baddest bosses in SNK fighting game history, Rugal is officially a part of King of Fighters XV. Even better for fans of the baddie, he’s free.

Originally appearing in King of Fighters ’94, Rugal Bernstein has been a thorn in players sides a few times over. Like any good supervillain, death can’t keep him down, and he’s back yet again for another round.
This time of course, it’s in KoF XV, as a downloadable character.
This dark arms merchant of death once ruled the world’s black market and was never shy about digging his fangs into any fighter that dared challenge him. Through the power of Orochi, he was given life once again, until a group of fierce fighters brought his reign to an end. Now, due to Verse’s influence, he’s returned to the mortal realm to extract vengeance.

Outside of Rugal, KoF XV’s latest DLC includes the Boss Challenge mode. In that, players can battle a CPU-controlled Omega Rugal, with some additional content in the balance. Beat him, and you’ll get the “OMEGA Armor costume, a new stage and new music.”
A total of 13 new fighters are planned here in 2022 for King of Fighters XV, so be on the lookout. Rugal is available to add onto your copy of the base game right now. Along with the Boss Challenge mode, he’s free of charge.
