Skater XL dated, hitting consoles and PC in July

Skateboarding is finally coming back to consoles and the PC thanks to Easy Day Studios’ Skater XL. Now it finally has a release date too, landing in July.

Grinding again

It’s been a while since fans have had a good skating sim on either consoles or the PC. When was the last one? It definitely wasn’t 2015’s Tony Hawk 5, which was met with a good deal of derision. Maybe Skate 3? That saw release in 2010. However you figure it, it’s been years.

Whether Skater XL ends up being as good as the best of the genre, we don’t quite know yet, but it definitely is looking that way. Now we have a release date for the final version of the title too, and it’s July 7th. That’s when the game is set to land in both physical and digital formats on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Along with that date, we have some news about what brands will be featured in the game. Yes, brands. Easy Day Studios has signed a number of known clothing and skate hardware brands for inclusion in the game. Kind of makes things a little more ‘official’ feeling, no?
