Rise warrior! A new gameplay trailer for Rune has arrived

An open-world Viking RPG isn’t something that you see every day. So it’s especially nice that HumanHead’s Rune is looking pretty sharp.

Giants, dragons, and plenty of bloodshed

Set in Midgard during Ragnarok, the end of days, Rune lets players align with their chosen god as they pillage villages for powerful weapons and armor, complete quests for their deity and receive blessings of strength and magic, all to save the realm from the trickster god Loki! Adventure by land and sea across a vast world of wonder and danger alone, with friends or against real opponents in PvP battles. Drink mead and vanquish monsters, beasts, the living and undead with brutal Viking power.

Sound good? Well, if it does, then you’re going to like the pre-order goodies that HumanHead and ESDF have planned. If you pre-order now, via Steam, you’ll be in for some cool stuff, namely a copy of the original game… yes, that’s right, this Rune is indeed related to the original Rune, which launched in 2000.

In fact, the first 2000 people who pre-order a copy of Rune will get that original for free as a bonus. And you will have three different versions of the new game to choose from.

The Warrior Pack ($29.99), Berserker Rage Pack ($39.99) and God Slayer Pack ($59.99) are all available for pre-order now, and can be had for 15% off. All you need do to get the money off is to order using the code Rune15 at checkout.

The game officially launches on September 19th (order here), though there’s a closed beta happening before that. Eager players can get in on that on September 1st, from 9am to 9pm eastern time. Servers are available in both the US and Europe, and you can sign up (before the beta launches) here.
