Capcom details Ultra Street Fighter II for Nintendo Switch

Glimpsed ever so briefly during the presser for the Nintendo Switch, Capcom’s Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers is looking sharp.

Here comes a new challenger!

Street Fighter II is back. Yes, Street Fighter II – as in, the second one. And man, is it looking awesome. I’m actually at a loss as to why Nintendo didn’t show this of last night, because this’d go a long way towards making quite a few fight fans smile.

Looking similar to the re-release from a few years ago that sported new graphics, Capcom is nonetheless saying USFII graphics are “a completely new modern look”. And looking different isn’t all that this one is packing.

USFII seems to be loaded up with all the modes that you’d expect, plus co-op. In that, you’ll be able to team with a second fighter to handicap matches against the CPU. Kind of neat for setting up some epic battles.

There are also a pair of new fighters this time around. Evil Ryu returns to fight another day and he’s joined by (drumroll) Violent Ken. No, not Violent Femmes, that’s a band. This is Violent Ken, as in a nasty version of Ken Masters. See the difference?
