Activision is in it’s own league, buys the MLG

Major League Gaming is now officially a part of Activision/Blizzard.

Forty-six million USD is what it took to nab Activision its own league of gaming with a purchase that closed out 2015 and was announced just the other day. According to GamesIndustry.biz, not even  shareholders knew of the deal for the most part, as it was kept under wraps and wasn’t even presented in a shareholders meeting of any kind.

MLG is a pretty big name in the world of competitive gaming of course, so this is a big deal. I don’t want to overstate it though, as there are multiple independent gaming leagues out there at present, which don’t factor the MLG into their goings-on.
