Fists will fly! Street Fighter V looks to be on track for a 2016 launch

The opening round of Capcom’s latest Street Fighter title (and PS4/PC exclusive) is scheduled as the game finally has a release window.

Set your calendars world warrior aficionados as we’ve got a release window all set for Street Fighter V. Announced not all that long ago as a PlayStation 4 and PC exclusive (though we’ll see how long that lasts), SFV looks very much like a beefed up SFIV, which is in no way a bad thing.

Now, a word of warning here to temper your excitement a tad- this release ‘news’ wasp out there in what was assuredly an error on behalf of Capcom. So, can you take it seriously? Well, that’s up to you really, but here’s the scuttle: Capcom, in its zeal to sell some t-shirts, Tweeted that “everyone is fired up for Street Fighter 5 coming to the PS4 and PC next Spring”, and then went on to talk about a Ryu Tee (that’s actually really cool).

The Tweet has since been yanked and there’s no mention of anything regarding a release date/window anywhere on Capcom Unity’s feed, or their official site for that matter. Is it the real deal? Yeah, probably. It does seem kind of odd to me that Capcom wouldn’t be shooting for Holiday 2015 for the exclusive title, but there hasn’t been much shown for SFV anywhere. Considering that, the game could still be a ways off, which would make that Spring 2016 window seem likely.

In any event,  stay tuned as usual and we’ll keep you up to date.
