Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare revealed early, takes the series sci-fi

Kevin Spacey stars (yes, that Kevin Spacey) in an all-new Call of Duty universe where PMCs and high-tech weaponry reign.

Revealed a bit on the early side due to some leaks online (the official unveiling of 2014’s CoD title is still scheduled for this Sunday), Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is nonetheless here and out in the open. And it’s looking pretty spectacular too.

All the high notes for the series were set in the trailer- huge explosions, even bigger disasters, and more ‘set pieces’ than you could shake a howitzer at. Though details are still somewhat scattered since this isn’t the full-on reveal, we obviously know that Advanced Warfare takes place in the future. We also know that Private Military Corporations play a a large part in the action, that actor Kevin Spacey stars (maybe as the main villain?), and that you’ll be using a heck of a lot of futuristic weaponry and even light mech suits. Superheroics anyone?

Look for our coverage this coming Sunday where there’s sure to be more than a few answers to these questions and more. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set to hit the Xbox One/360, PS4/s, and PC this Autumn- on November 4th.
