InXile reveals more Wasteland 2 details, one new screen

Yes, it’s only one screen, but if you’ve been waiting patiently for inXile’s Kickstarted Wasteland sequel, then you’re going to want to see it as well as the new tidbits released this week about the game.

Wasteland, as a franchise, may have kicked off the whole Fallout phenomenon, but it hasn’t been seen for a good long time. Now that the Kickstarter campaign for the game’s sequel has been successful and the new sequel, developed by inXile, is well on the way, fans finally have something to get excited about again. From the looks of the newest screenshot, it’s going to be pretty sharp-looking too, and that 50 hours of playtime should keep you busy too.

“I felt it was important for us to exceed our Kickstarter backers’ expectations and deliver a truly deep RPG,” says Brian Fargo, CEO. “There is a tremendous amount of gameplay that is either easy to miss or mutually exclusive, so while those 50 hours will suffice for a single play-through, there are plenty of reasons to go back for a second one.”

As for what you’ll be doing in those 50 hours, Wasteland 2 is set to be a monster adventure with plenty to explore through the world in Los Angles and beyond. InXile says you’ll be facing all manner of beasties and human enemies too, and something that not only threatens the game’s iconic rangers, but all of humanity as well. Sounds like fun.

Wasteland 2 is currently on Steam’s Early Access platform as a Beta and should be available on the PC in full retail form some time this year.
