Not just Rivals- enemies.
As the hottest, fastest cars in the world tear up the streets of Redview County, Zephyr and the racers like him, risk it all as the Cops cross the line to try and stop them in the ultimate rivalry of the roads. The power of AllDrive brings the Cops and Racers together in a seamless world where races and chases collide to create a white knuckled experience found nowhere else but in Need for Speed Rivals.
Need for Speed as a series, has a very solid history (especially in recent years) with producing some of the best racers available. What it does not have however, is a great history with story lines. To be fair though, I don’t actually think I’ve ever played a racing game with a story that went anywhere interesting. NfS Rivals just might change that though.
From the sound of it, the cops vs racers mechanic isn’t just there for gameplay, but it actually becomes the driving force behind moving the narrative along. That’s something that could be very cool, especially since it appears we’re seeing the conflict from the racers’ eyes, which is kind of a bold move by EA and developer Criterion.
Need for Speed Rivals blazes onto the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 19th with Xbox One and PS4 editions arriving on the 22nd.
