Nintendo outlines Holiday lineup and price changes

If you’re a fan of Nintendo’s classic stable of characters and games, you should find plenty to like about the company’s Holiday lineup.

A few interesting items emerged from the GameStop managers show in Las Vegas today. Now, you already know all about the Nintendo 2DS from our earlier posting about the newest member of Nintendo’s portable family, but there’s plenty more worth talking about.

First up, the Wii U is getting cheaper. With a $50 USD drop to the home console’s Deluxe Set as of September 20th, the Wii U will clock in at a tidy $299.99 USD. That price point puts it well under both the Xbox One and the PS4, which are expected to hit retail shelves this November for $499 and $399 respectively. The console will also be getting a pack-in edition which will see the new Legend of Zelds: The Wind Waker HD included in the box. That special bundle pack will also be dropping on the 20th, but no price has been announced as of yet.

And the show wasn’t all hardware as Nintendo also outlined their Holiday gaming lineup. I have to say that, although I wasn’t originally all that wowed by the offerings, there’s a lot of mainstay Nintendo on this list- and that’s something that fans are always clamoring for more of.
