Kneel before Zod!!
I don’t dislike the choice to feature Zod here. I know a lot of fans do as he’s basically just another Kryptonian, but he looks very different than Superman in both his move set and his taunts/flourishes here and there. Those are little things, especially in a fighting game, that can make playing as one character over another all that much more of a good time.
Plus Zod is a classic character that would have a really interesting place in an Elseworld like the one featured in Injustice. And then of course, he’s the main villain in this Summer’s blockbuster Man of Steel film, so you know Warner Brothers was probably dead set on including him in Injustice. I’m not really crazy about the look that developer NetherRealm chose for him but there’s more than likely a Man of Steel skin on the way, so I can wait.
A movie skin is actually available right now for Superman (for 80 MS points or .99 cents) in the game, so I can’t imagine we’ll have to wait all that long for one for Zod. And while we’re on the subject of skins, also available this week are the New 52, Blackest Night 2 and Earth 2 skin packs, all of which contain a trio of new looks for characters on the Injustice roster. Each pack will cost 240 MS points on Xbox Live or $2.99 USD on the PSN.
