DST tells some Strange Tales in its Marvel Minimate line

For longtime Marvel-ites, the new Strange Tales box set from Diamond Select Toys just might be the coolest release of the year. Dr.Strange and Morbius are neat enough, but add in Werewolf by Night and debut Blade and you’ve got a Minimate collection that you really can’t miss.

The Marvel Minimates in Diamond Select Toys’ upcoming “Strange Tales” box set were inspired by classic Marvel horror comics of yesteryear, but until today they have been only legend. However, new photographic evidence has surfaced that captures the box set’s four characters in their natural habitats, proving once and for all that these Minimates are real… and awesome!

I couldn’t agree more with that, these guys are completely awesome. What are the chances that fans would get a classic Blade Minimate? Of course, you don’t just get the pre-Snipes Blade in the set. In all, the four pack includes a ’70s era’ Dr.Strange, Jack Russell Werewolf by Night, Michael Morbius ‘the living vampire’, and Eric Brooks himself – Blade. I’m sure he gets along really well with Mikey.

You’ll also find some pretty snazzy accessories for the four mystic pals in the box, including “a stake-throwing hand and alternate bare arms for Blade, spell-casting hands and an energy base for Dr. Strange, a flight base for Morbius and standard bases for all four”. Pretty nice.

Look for the Strange Tales four pack to hit stores next month, just uh… maybe try and keep Blade and Morbius away from each other on your display once you crack ’em open.
