Valiant Comics cuts graphic novel prices before launch

The four incoming ‘Summer of Valiant’ books aren’t even on shelves yet, but the publisher is slashing prices anyway.

All told there will be four volumes that make up the Summer of Valiant series with one hitting shops every month through March 2013.

Cary Nord and Robert Venditti’s X-O MANOWAR volume 1: By the Sword will be in stores right around the corner on December 5th. The book collects the first issues of the relaunch of the Valiant Universe that arrived this past Summer- hence the whole ‘Summer of Valiant’ label.

Following that will be Harbinger Vol. 1: Omega Rising, Bloodshot Vol. 1: Setting The World On Fire, and finally- Archer & Armstrong Vol. 1: The Michelangelo Code. All four books are more than worth a read and honestly have some of the best super-heroics around.

All four books will also be way cheaper than they were originally announced to be, as the’ve all been marked down to $9.99 USD.

“Valiant is dedicated to getting its titles into the hands of as many new readers as possible and a $9.99 price point is the perfect way to do that,” said Valiant Publisher Fred Pierce. “Our ‘Summer of Valiant’ launch generated a tremendous amount of critical acclaim, and retailer support for the first X-O Manowar trade paperback has been through the roof. If you’ve been holding out on trying a particular title or the new Valiant Universe as a whole, this is the perfect opportunity to find out what you’ve been missing. You’ll get hooked!”

So X-O next month (a month in which the regular book will be starting the Planet Death storyline BTW), with Harbinger in January, Bloodshot in February, and A&A in March. If you missed any of them the first time around, now’s the time to catch up.
