Viscera Clean-up available now for Shadow Warrior

Shadow Warrior’s Lo Wang can get a little messy when he carves into some thugs, but that’s what janitors are for.

Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior is a free downloadable crossover game from the Devolver Digital Cross Promotions Department who’ve brought together Flying Wild Hog’s action title Shadow Warrior and RuneStorm’s janitorial ‘sim’ Viscera Cleanup Detail. If you’re not familiar, VCD explores the idea that somebody has to clean up after all the big battles in FPS and action games- in a tongue-in-cheek way of course.

“When our team first saw Viscera Cleanup Detail on Steam Greenlight we absolutely loved with the idea of a person out there that had to clean up after big battles in FPS or horror games,” said Michal Szustak, Studio Head at Flying Wild Hog. “RuneStorm has done a tremendous job in taking a key scene from Shadow Warrior and recreating its aftermath to form a fun and hilariously frustrating mini-game using the Viscera Cleanup Detail mechanics.”

The game is a stand-alone product, so you won’t need to own Shadow Warrior to play, and takes place right after hero Lo Wang’s first big swordfight with the Yakuza. Once the combat ends, it’s your job to scan the scene with the ‘viscera finder’ and then mop up all the blood and incinerate all  the meaty chunks. And there’s some actual strategy to this too as RuneStorm points out that you’ll have to watch where you step (lest you track blood all over the floor you just mopped) and be careful not to spill the vat of entrails you collected down a flight of steps.

Both Shadow Warrior and Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior are available now. Just watch your step.
