Sadly, it looks like Techland’s medieval slasher/FPS Hellraid has been cancelled.

Techland’s Hellraid has undergone some changes since you’ve seen it last. Most notably, it’s now running in the same engine that powers the developer’s Dying Light- Chrome Engine 6.

Hellraid has been through a near total retooling since it was announced by zombie-centric company Techland. Now the game has officially slipped into 2015, but it’s looking more impressive then ever before thanks to the next-gen (current-gen?) hardware that it’ll be running on when you finally get to play it.

Well, developer Techland hopes it is anyway. From the look of the newest developer diary though, it’s already looking pretty darn impressive.

Techland’s medieval first-person slash-a-thon has officially been nudged into next year.

Not only is this cool, but it’s also pretty darned innovative. Developer Techland has just released an interactive video that’ll have you guiding the monk named Edyn from his hellspawn infested monastery.

Techland’s newest title is a dark fantasy hack and slash called Hellraid. And while raiding hell doesn’t sound like a great idea, from the developer’s Q&A that’s just been released, it actually sounds like a pretty fun time.
