Microsoft celebrates some galactic sales figures for the Halo franchise

Halo is a popular series, massively so as the total sales numbers for the franchise have topped 65 million copies.

Talked about at a Mega Bloks panel at this past SDCC last week, Microsoft has revealed that the Halo franchise is one monster money-maker to the tune of 65 million units sold. The franchise, which kicked off the Xbox era and was the lynch-pin game for the original console’s launch, has become one of the highest-rated and most fan-favorite series’ to grace the line of gaming systems.

Kind of interesting too is that the series has racked up a beefy 5 million units in sales since the launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. That game launched with a bunch of issues as goes its multiplayer functionality, but it certainly doesn’t seem to have bothered fans any. Also included in those digits, is the newest mobile release for Halo, Spartan Strike, which is a pretty cool little twin-stick shooter.

No signs of slowdown or fan fatigue here, as Halo rolls on into Halo 5: Guardians’ release for the Xbox One this Fall.
