LEGO Jurassic World trailer debuts as Warner Bros talks LEGO toys-to-life

It’s a big day for LEGO game fans. Not only does the new LEGO Jurassic World game look fantastic (and different for a LEGO title!) but Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment might be prepping a toys-to-life LEGO announcement.

Pretty cool looking, and the best part is that it actually looks like Jurassic World will be bringing a little something new to LEGO games, which was sorely needed in my opinion. After playing LEGO Batman 3 (and reviewing it), I was kind of fatigued when it comes to LEGO titles, but Jurassic World almost looks like it has a ‘survival’ element to it, and will feature gameplay that consists of more than just bashing LEGO raptors to pieces. Crossing my fingers for this one.

LEGO Jurassic World is currently on track for a June 30 launch date on consoles and the PC, which is just a bit after the movie opens up in theaters on June 12th.

As for that toys-to-life bit, according to Videogamer.com, it looks like LEGO Is heading the way of Skylanders, Disney Infinity, and Amiibo. When you think about it, it’s kind of amazing that this hasn’t happened already since LEGO games are still massively popular and the toys are some of the biggest and most profitable in the world. There’s nothing to report as to details on this as of yet, and right now it’s sort of in the realm of ‘rumor’ as there’s no official source or announcement on the record.

For their part, developer Traveller’s Tales has commented around the question, and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has refused to comment. We’ll see where this one goes, especially come E3 time this June.
