Elite: Dangerous Launch Trailer Released

Frontier released the launch trailer for Elite: Dangerous today and it is a super slick, cinematic preview.

Elite: Dangerous is the fourth installment of the Elite series by Frontier Developments. Unable to find funding from a publisher, Frontier turned to Kickstarter in November 2012 to fund the game. Like the previous titles, Dangerous is a space adventure, trading and combat simulator game. It will be the first in the series to boast Massive Multiplayer gameplay in a 1:1 full scale open world replica of the Milky Way Galaxy. While a beautiful trailer that touches on the myriad of activities players can do in the game, there is not any actual gameplay footage. If you are interested in seeing actual gameplay, here’s a thirty minute video of the Beta 3 that details many of the major features of the game.

The trailer should definitely garner some anticipation for this awesome looking game. The game officially releases for OS X and Microsoft Windows December 16th.
