Dark Horse unleashes the Ghost Fleet, Donny Cates newest book

Lots to like about this book, announced at least week’s C2E2 show in Chicago. Not to be forgotten with their new superhero initiative (Black Sky), Dark Horse has a terrific history with standalone comics like this one that build their own universes.

Also in the realm of terrific histories is the author Cates, who’s Buzzkill was one of our favorite comics of last year and a fresh and unique take on the superhero genre. It was also just plain fun, which is more than worth mentioning, especially since Ghost Fleet just reeks of cool.

With artwork from with art by Daniel Warren Johnson and colors by Lauren Affe, Ghost Fleet looks like it mixes hard-hitting action and the open-road feel of ’70s and ’80s films with the conspiratorial vibe of X-Files. And if that’s the case, I can’t wait to see what the team has cooked up.

Ghost Fleet hits the racks like a semi on November 5th.
