Fans looking to go all-in for Gears of War: E-Day this fall might want to check out the two new controllers that were just announced.
E-Day for controllers
Gears of War: E-Day is, pretty easily, one of the biggest gaming events of the year. And it’s without a doubt the single biggest for XBOX. Gears is still amongst a handful properties that instantly get the spotlight when there’s a new game hitting stores after all. And in the way of the series’ newest, that hype looks warranted.
If you’ve yet to see E-Day in action, it’s a prequel, set around the Emergence Day event itself. That’s the day that saw the Locust Horde first make its appearance on Sera. With that, Marcus and Dom are back together, in what looks like a full-on origin story.
The title has already had a slick looking Collector’s Edition hit pre-order via Microsoft’s online shop, but it’s not stopping there. Right along with that will be a pair of controllers that just got a big reveal.
As you can see, besides the overall aesthetic, there’s a pretty big difference between the two controllers. The “Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition” Crimson Omen might be the most iconic of the pair. That offering includes transparent elements and a “leather-like” texture to its back and side grips.
On the other hand, the skull-emblazoned “Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition with XBOX Design Lab” includes the art of illustrator Luke Preece. Plus, as the name implies, it also takes advantage of a little customization. The XBOX Design Lab will be the place to make custom alterations to that that controller, though not just yet, so stay tuned.
Right now though, the Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition is ready for pre-order, which is something you can do at the aforementioned Microsoft store. It’s priced in at $89.99 USD, and should start shipping on September 30th, 2026.
