Reimagining Ubisoft’s mascot platformer, Rayman Legends Retold brings the classic back for a new generation of consoles and PC.
Rayman finally returns
Ubisoft is rolling with remakes lately. That makes pretty good sense from where we sit, as revisiting the games that captured players attention the first time around seems like a sound idea for a publisher who’s been mired in so-so launches over the last few years.
If you haven’t been paying attention, the publisher is just about to bring Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynched to fans, but that’s not all for 2026. Just revealed at Sony’s State of Play presentation, Ubi will also be serving up Rayman Legends Retold.
The platformer also appears to be a little more than your typical remake. Ubisoft says that Rayman Legends Retold will build on the original, with “a brand-new story and fully voiced cinematics”. From the press release, that also will include a totally new sixth realm to play through.
Across all of the realms however, players will be able to take control of Rayman, and also Globox, Barbara, Grand Minimus, and Murphy. With four playable characters too, you bet that Rayman Legends Retold will fire up some multiplayer. And by that, we mean couch co-op for up to four.
“Rayman Legends Retold is our way of revisiting what makes Rayman so special, and re‑telling that experience for a new generation of players,” said Loïc Gounon, Brand Producer. “We wanted to preserve everything fans love, and Legends gave us the perfect foundation to expand Rayman’s lore, its world logic, and how everything connects together.”

The Legends are back, this fall
Featuring a soundtrack from Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope, Rayman Legends Retold is heading to consoles and the PC on October 1st, 2026. Look for it on Ubisoft+, PS5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch 2, GeForce Now, Blacknut, and PC (via Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and the Epic Games Store).
There’s a bonus for pre-ordering as well, which will net fans the Hoodlum Havoc Pack. Included therein are two costumes for Rayman and Globlox, inspired by the classic title, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. And while we’re talking about the release, also on tap are a quartet of editions.
Those vary depending on whether you’ll be grabbing a physical or digital copy, so scroll down and take a look at what each includes.
