007 First Light title sequence to star Lana Del Rey

Musical openings are a staple part of James Bond movies, and the 007 First Light game will follow suit. Check out the title sequence.

First Light, first track

Any fan of James Bond could tell you that musical title sequences are a big part of the films. The opening moments of on screen action typically give way to a stylized music video after all. And those are usually packed with heroic shots, explosions, and silhouetted women.

Those songs themselves are typically tailored to the movies too. Not only that, but they tend to be performed by major music industry talent. They’re kind of a big deal, and the themes have become a mainstay for the series. That’s no matter who’s in the title role, or what kind of tone is present. And as we just found out too, the same will go for 007 First Light.

Running in step with the films, the first moments of IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming action game will indeed present its own theme song. And yes, it’s even got a heavy hitting voice behind it, with one Lana Del Rey.

Not only does she belt out its lyrics, but she co-composed it. Del Rey was joined by David Arnold for that task, who’s no stranger to Bond.

The title sequence follows the Bond franchise’s long-lived tradition of the opening credits showcasing the game’s motifs and identity. The title sequence and title song of 007 First Light set the tone for Bond’s reimagined origin story with a modern yet classic flair. Built around striking visuals and a rich cinematic atmosphere, it brings together the main themes of James Bond’s journey in the game, as he enters the world of espionage. Anchored by Lana Del Rey and David Arnold’s powerful title song, the sequence embraces the franchise’s legacy while bringing its own identity, honoring James Bond’s return to gaming after more than 13 years.

Amazon MGM Studios press release

Pretty slick stuff there. We do have to admit that we miss the familiar ‘gunshot’ ending that these songs typically are punctuated by though. You know the ones, where Bond spins to the camera-view and fires. Still, even without that, the song and visuals do carry the feel.

If you’ve been waiting for Bond’s latest game stay tuned, as it’s coming up fast. 007 First Light is set to hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC on May 27th, 2026.

Go deep on audio in the latest episode of Beyond the Light

Want to go even deeper into 007’s musical accompaniment? If so, the latest episode of Beyond the Light has been released as well. If you don’t know what that is, it’s essentially a developer diary, produced by IO Interactive. And yes, the latest installment digs into the music of the game. It tells a wider-ranging tale than just focusing on the title tune though.

Dominic Vega, Missions and Audio Director for the title, is included along with The Flight. The latter name is a composing duo was behind the score of the game. So if you’re big into what goes into video game music, you might want to check it out.
