While Boomstock is a PC event (via Steam), horror FPS Forgive Me Father 2 will be launching onto consoles in its midst.
Now that’s a boom
If you’re not familiar with Boomstock, and it is a relatively new event, the Steam happening centers on FPS’. We’re not just talking about any old FPS’ though, as these first-person shooters are what’s popularly called ‘boomer shooters’. They’re classically styled, showcasing action that’s more in line with the genre of the 90s than today.
This year’s showcase will be loaded with developers and publishers, serving up both deals, announcements, and launches. And while most of that will undoubtably surround the PC, there’s at least one that’s breaking free. As you can see from the above, that game would be Forgive Me Father 2.
The sequel to the 2022 original also from developer Byte Barrel, Forgive Me Father 2 brings back the first game’s Priest as its hero. Naturally, it also stars the denizens of otherworldly realms, plenty of blasting action, and a new twist on Lovecraftian insanity.
After its highly successful launch exclusively on PC, this beloved retro-styled FPS is ready to join its predecessor and bring its unique mix of cosmic horror and intense action to a new audience of console players. Forgive Me Father 2 is a masterful blend of classic boomer shooter, fused with modern mechanics and powered by Unreal Engine 5 technology.

Console-bound
Joining its prequel, Forgive Me Father 2 is warping to consoles, and in short order. The game will be landing in time for Boomstock, which will place it on both PlayStation and Xbox for September 23rd. Nintendo fans shouldn’t worry either, as there’s Switch version also in the works. That’s an eventuality though, as it’s not ready just yet.
As for what fans can expect, the console edition will bring across everything that the PC version stocks. That means foes that evolve, upgradable weaponry, and yes, that insanity we hinted at above. If you’ve never played a Forgive Me Father title, the lunacy that typically pervades Lovecraft-inspired works is quite a bit different. Yes, the priest can lose his mind as he fights the hordes of monsters in front of him. Thing is though, it’s not to his detriment. This madness can be channeled, and turned-right back around on the beasts from the void.
Here’s the highlights, from the press release:

Deals are definitely not insane
While the console launch of Forgive Me Father 2 is the headline news, there’s also a deal for PC to talk about. That’s more of a direct tie-into Boomstock too. As you might’ve guessed, it will see the FPS’ go on sale via Steam.
You might be wondering what that deal might be, but uh, we can’t tell you yet. And yes, that’s mainly because we don’t know what it’ll be. Publisher Fulqrum has only revealed that there will be one. The “great deal” will coincide with the celebration though, so if you’re looking to get in on the game’s horror action, make sure to check that listing during Boomstock 2025.
Who knows, you might want to grab something else as well, since Fulqrum, says to look for “tons of other insane offers, announcements and news”.
