Bethesda’s massive aRPG Starfield is expanding this month with Shattered Space, and there’s a new animated lead-in to check out.
Animated action
If you’ve played Bethesda’s Starfield, then you know two things. For one, the base game delivered a gorgeous galaxy for players to get lost in. And second, you know that its base playground was absolutely massive. But as big as Starfield’s galaxy was/is, it’s about to get a bit bigger.
That expansion will come by way of Shattered Space, downloadable content that will take fans to the homeworld of house Va’ruun. Formerly hidden, the planet is in political upheaval, and it’s up to the player to sort out the mess, as well as explore this newly revealed world.
To get fans rolling into this pack, Bethesda has released a Starfield Animated Anthology episode, showcasing just what happened to lead to the DLC’s disaster.
In “All Must Serve” we follow a young Va’ruun child attending a ceremony at the Scaled Citadel. When a catastrophe wipes out a massive chunk of the Va’ruun capital city, the people of House Va’ruun are left struggling to pick up the pieces.
Bethesda press release
Get ready, Shattered Space launches this month, on September 30th, 2024. Just keep in mind that the pack expands the base game, so you’ll need a copy of that to get in on the action. There are a few ways to that end too, including grabbing a Digital Premium Upgrade.
If you already own the base game you can buy into that, which’ll get you Shattered Space plus some extras. Included are “digital items including Digital Art Book, Original Soundtrack, 1,000 Creation Credits, and the Constellation Skin pack”, according to Bethesda. Also, if you already own the Premium or Constellation Edition of the game, Shattered Space is included and you’re already set to dig in.
Have yet to play Starfield in any form? It’s available for the Xbox Series X|S and PC, and is also up on Microsoft Game Pass.
