The Magic Order is about to jump from comics to TV, but before that happens it’s getting an oversized collection from Dark Horse.
Magical tome
From creator Mark Millar, The Magic Order created a world steeped in the mystical and otherworldly. The story stars five secret families, whose never-ending and global mission is to protect the world at large from the terrors from beyond.
Now said book will be bringing it’s popularity to an upcoming live-action television series from Netflix. But that’s not all, as the collection of mini-series’ will also be getting a massive collection from Dark Horse, bringing together volumes one and two for The Magic Order: Library Edition.
“It’s always exciting to see one of your books on a shelf,” says Millar. “But The Magic Order being collected into one of these beautiful library editions has me so excited I’ve already cleared a space on my shelf in anticipation. I created this in my day job as a franchise within Netflix for live-action, but the visual scope of this series was so exciting that I talked the team into making this a comic-book too and was lucky to get the two best artists of their generation to draw the first two volumes. This series is my own personal favourite work in a thirty year career so to have it collected into something this grand is something I’m looking forward to more than any of you.”

Set to be presented in hardcover format, The Magic Order: Library Edition will arrive in stores to kick off 2025. Fans can look for it in bookstores on January 14th, and in comics shops on the 15th. In addition to that premium format title, The Magic Order volumes one through four are also up for pre-order separately, with all of those looking to arrive before the Library Edition.
While all of the above are penned by Millar, volumes one and two feature artists Oliver Coipel and Stuart Immonen, along with colorists Dave Stewart, Sunny Gho, and David Curiel. Volume three shakes things up visually with artists Gigi Cavenago and Valentina Napolitano, and volume four stars the talents of Dike Ruan and Giovanna Niro.
