Hard-hitting fighter Feng revealed for Tekken 8, as Bandai Namco talks October beta and 2024 launch

A bunch of Tekken 8 news dropped today, including a returning fighter, a new closed beta, and that January launch date.

Oblivion is your fate

Was Tekken 8 delayed out of 2023? Not really when you think about it, since the fighting game never actually had a launch date to begin with. Fans just kind of assumed it was going to hit this year, which granted would have been kind of awesome with the other new fighters out there. Still, it turns out that the Tekken army won’t be waiting all that long anyway.

Bandai Namco has revealed that the title will hit consoles and the PC just after the Holiday season, on January 26th, 2024. Even better too, you’ll be able to sign up for a new closed beta test that starts next month. So you’ll be able to get another taste of the Iron Fist sooner than later anyway.

Here’s the latest look at the game in action, complete with returning character Feng taking center stage:

A Chinese warrior, Feng Wei debuted back in Tekken 5, and has become a mainstay for the series. With that in mind it’s not really a shock to see him back once again for Tekken 8, though it is always nice to see more of the familiar cast of characters confirmed. And as you can see above, he’s looking pretty awesome, with plenty of powerful moves. What is unclear though, is if he’ll be a part of that beta test we mentioned.

Nevertheless, if you’re a Tekken fan you’re probably going to want in on that no matter who’s available to play as. Just remember that this is a closed beta, so you’ll have to actually sign up to take part. Fortunately, the sheet is open right now, and you can get in on it via the official page, here.

Don’t wait too long though, since the signup period comes to a close on October 11th, 2023.
