Venom gets Redemption in Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Formerly under the sway of the evil Lilith, Eddie Brock is free and ready to rumble in the upcoming Midnight Suns DLC pack, Redemption.

Lethal Protector

If you played Marvel’s Midnight Suns from 2K and Firaxis’, then you already know that a demonic force had infected the Marvel Universe. That came by way of Lilith, a supernatural foe that took over the minds of some of Marvel’s villains.

One of those villains though, it’s strictly an evil-doer. And it’s the freed Lethal Protector himself, Venom, that is the focus of the game’s next round of DLC. But he’s not all that’s included, as there are some new story missions to play as well, that continue the vampiric tale from the already available expansion pack.

In Redemption, Venom — the deadly amalgam of Eddie Brock and an alien symbiote — joins the Midnight Suns on February 23 as a recruitable hero** to right the wrongs he committed under Lilith’s demonic influence, bringing new abilities and an insatiable appetite to chew through evildoers. Redemption includes three new story missions that continue off of the first DLC, which introduced the threat of vampyres on New York City. Players will want to build Venom’s unique Research project Whisper Web, which expands the tactical options for the Intel resource.

2K press release

Redemption is coming to Midnight Suns on February 23rd, and will be available for all versions of the strategy title. But if you’ve yet to take the Midnight Suns plunge in terms of the main adventure, there’s even more good news today.

We’re discounting the Apocalypse

2K has put all versions on sale, including Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam. It’s a pretty beefy discount too, at 40% off.

  • Xbox (Microsoft Store): 40% off Enhanced and Legendary editions from February 7 to February 20
  • PlayStation (PlayStation Store): 40% off Enhanced and Legendary editions from February 15 to March 1, only for PlayStation Plus subscribers
  • Steam: 40% off all editions from February 16 to March 2

And finally, in addition to the new stuff and the sales, there’s also a free weekend. That’d be this one that we’re currently heading into, and it brings the base Midnight Suns title to digital storefronts as a Game Trial.

Xbox Series X|S players will be able to get a 3 hour session rolling, while those gaming on a PS5 will nab 2. Well, they will as long as they’re PlayStation Plus Premium players, as they’ll have to be subbed to get in on this promotion. Also be aware that the demo starts counting down as long as the game is open. So be careful.

On the flip side, the PC edition (which is playable via Steam), is just plain old free to play for this weekend. Nope, no time limit. It’s already started, and will run through February 19th at 9:59am Pacific.
