Norse myth plays into Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in a big way, and that’s exactly where Dark Horse Comics’ newest take on the franchise will go.
From the halls of Valhalla
If you’ve played Ubisoft’s last Assassin’s Creed title, then you know that it was as much about vikings and Norse myth as it was about the title guild. It’s also the thread that Dark Horse Comics is about to pull, as it plunges into a new series based in the series’ universe.
The book will open up as a prequel, but not to the base Assassin’s Creed Valhalla game. Instead, it will lead into the newest expansion for that game, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök.
And from the sound of it, it’s going to do so without an assassin in the spotlight. Instead, the gods of Asgard are squarely at its fore.
Thor, Baldr, and Heimdall have discovered trouble lurking at Asgard’s borders once again. A mighty fire giant from Muspelheim is threatening the land of the Æsir. In the aftermath of the raging battle, Baldr discovers that the Muspels are now massing at the gates of Svartalfheim and begins a journey to bring peace to the realms.
