Doom Eternal’s The Ancient Gods is ready to rip ‘n’ tear

Bethesda and ID’s massive expansion for Doom Eternal’s campaign is finally here. The Ancient Gods are about to meet the Slayer in today’s launch.

You know what to do

Yep, it’s once again time to rip and maybe even tear some demons (and other things) to pieces as the Doom Slayer. With the main campaign of Doom Eternal in the rear view mirror, the one-man war machine has returned, this time to take the fight to the Maykrs themselves, in their home realm.

But even though this is an expansion of the DE storyline, it’s not DLC. Nope, you don’t even have to own a copy of the ‘base’ game to play. The Ancient Gods is a standalone product, so it’s kind of like a Doom 2.5 really.

And aside from that, it’s also just the first part of this new saga. Here’s a look at Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods…

After defeating the Khan Maykr and obliterating the
reincarnated Icon of Sin, the DOOM Slayer’s fight is just getting started. Unleash your vengeance and face your greatest test as you march back to the Maykr’s realm. Defeat powerful new threats, restore order to the heavens and unearth the corruption that has thrown the universe into chaos.

So how do you play?

If you have either the Season One pass ($29.99 USD) for the game, or the Deluxe Edition of Doom Eternal, you’re good to go. You can download and play The Ancient Gods right now, since it’s included with both of those.

If you don’t, well you can still get ahold of a copy today, as it’s available separately. The purchase of the expansion even includes Battlemode, so you get a little extra in with it.
