A port of SNK’s recently released Samurai Showdown rebirth is set to be the first fighting game experience on the Xbox Series X, when it hits this winter.
Drawing swords again
Looks like the next generation of Xbox will be getting a fighting game sooner than later, thanks to publisher SNK. The company’s pretty well-regarded Samurai Showdown reinvention, released last year, will be ported to the next-gen machine.
We’ve even got a first look trailer to have a gander at:
The Xbox Series X|S is Microsoft’s most innovative and cutting-edge next-gen console which is ramping up to hit the market soon, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of its massive presence in the gaming community…
Yasuyuki Oda, SAMURAI SHODOWN’s producer
Yes, it says Samurai Spirits. But that’s because that’s what the series is called in Japan. Pay it no mind for this announcement if you live anywhere else, since it’ll definitely be ‘Showdown’ when it comes to other territories.
As to when that’ll be, there’s no definitive word yet. We do know however, that Samurai Showdown will be hitting some time this winter. So that should be well within the launch window of the Xbox Series X|S.
