Dig Dug joins Numbskull’s line of quarter-sized arcades

There’s a new mini-standup arcade cabinet joining Numbskull’s lineup, and it comes in the form of the Bandai Namco classic Dig Dug.

Digging it

Well this is a pleasant surprise. If you have any history with Numbskull’s quarter-size arcade units, you know why, since the line is a terrific one.

I have the Pac Man cab, and I can tell you from first-hand experience that it’s a great title item. Unlike some ‘retro’ cabs on the market, Numbskull’s are huge.

You might not realize it, but quarter-scale is actually pretty big, and nicely fills up a shelf. The units stand in at 16.92″ tall by 8.27″ deep, by 6.3″ wide, which is fairly chunky.

If Pac Man is anything to go by, they also play phenomenally, and the detailing on the actual cab is incredible. These things really do look like scaled down versions of the real thing, right down to the (non-functional) coin slots.

As you can see in the trailer below, the latest addition Dig Dug is looking great too.

Ready to play? Dig Dug is ready for pre-order, and can be secured through Numbskull’s online shop. The cab will run you $149.99 USD, and is set to ship out this October.
