It’s a mega year for Mega Man fans, as the blue bomber is getting all kinds of love from Capcom. And now Udon is getting in on things.
Mega-art
Two new art tomes are on the way to celebrate the Blue Bomber’s 30th birthday from Udon. The publisher is a favorite of Capcom’s, who of course produce the video games of the same name. They’ve worked together on fighting game books aplenty, and I think a Mega-volume or two already.
These two are brand new however.
MEGA MAN: OFFICIAL COMPLETE WORKS Hardcover Edition is the ultimate collection of classic Mega Man game covers, character art, enemy & boss designs, rough concepts, tribute pieces, and much more. The book covers all 10 games in the classic Mega Man series, plus spin-offs, remakes, re-releases, and crossovers, all supported by a heaping amount of exclusive creator commentary. Likewise, the MEGA MAN X: OFFICIAL COMPLETE WORKS Hardcover Edition gives the same treatment to Mega Man’s even more futuristic successor, and covers all 8 core games and spinoffs from the Mega Man X series.
Sound good? It should. Udon makes some high-quality stuff, so if you’re a fan you should definitely be looking out for these. They join what’s become a packed year for fans too. Four (or two, depending on how you look at it) collections of games are out there right now, an animated series is hitting TV this month, and the 11th game in the classic series lands this October.
Coincidently, that’s the same month that the first of these hardcover books arrive. Mega Man: Official Complete Works is first, followed in November by Mega Man X: Official Complete Works.
