PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds explodes to 3 million players on Xbox One

The Xbox One version of Battlegrounds has been something of a disappointment as to its performance in the early going. But that hasn’t stopped boatloads of players from checking it out.

That’s one big Battleground

I’m not much of a multiplayer guy, so you’ll have to excuse me, but I have no idea what the hubbub is about PUBG. To me, the game just looks like an old school deathmatch, just on a much bigger scale than what we’ve seen before. Honestly, I can’t get too excited about it.

But I am in the minority on that one. Way, way in the minority.

Apparently, that means more than three million gamers have bought PUBG since its launch on the Xbox One last month. That’s according to Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg, who also added that the game will be seeing many new additions and improvements to come.

This week, PUBG got first-person support on Xbox One for “solo, duo, and squads gameplay”. A new map is also coming up soon with Miramar, and Greenberg also promises “more updates planned that include additional game optimization”.

So if you’re a fan, and one of the millions playing right now, then you’ve apparently got quite a bit to look forward to.
