SDCC 2017: Mutants and cosmic heroes join Sideshow’s Marvel offerings

Sideshow Toys’ impressive line of statues and sixth scale figures got a lot more out of this world this past weekend, with characters from Thor, Guardians and more.

Ragnarok… and roll

Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 have somewhat similar feels to them, at least from the trailers. Lots of bright color, action, and plenty of humor seem to highlight both films. So maybe it’s no accident that they both are dawning in the same year at the box office.

Either way, it’s definitely no fluke that Hot Toys has gone off and running with both movies. That’s evident here in their new lineup, carried by Sideshow Toys. Collectors will be getting two versions of Thor, as well as a Gladiator Hulk, Valkyrie, Loki, Hela, and several members of the GotG team.

Not to be left out, the company’s impressive series of Marvel statues will be getting some love in the form of the X-Men. A very impressive Magneto will lead the way here, and be joined by Wolverine. He’s still in the prototype phase, as you can see, but looks to be shaping up quite well.

Statue fans can also expect to see a new lil’ Groot maquette, as well as Iron Man in his iconic Mark III armor. Slick stuff.
