Cyanide Interactive’s new take on the H.P. Lovecraft mythos looks terrifyingly faithful to the source material with Call of Cthulhu.
The US might be in the midst of the roaring 1920’s in Call of Cthulhu, but what’s happening just off of the coast of Boston, on Darkwater Island, is anything but mirthful. And what you’ll discover there as war vet and PI Edward Pierce, there to initially investigate a murder, just might bring you to the edge of insanity.
If you’re familiar with what this game is based on, Chaosium’s pen & paper RPG of the same name, then you know what to expect. If you’re in the dark on the subject, then what you really need to know is that Cthulhu is awakening on this small and unassuming island. And if that happens, it’s curtains for the whole of humanity.
Here in this E3 trailer, we;re getting a look at the surroundings that you’ll find yourself submerged in in the game. There’s lots more to come though, as this short video only hints at what’s waiting out there for you… in the dark.
From Cyanide and published by Focus Home Interactive, Call of Cthulhu will have you looking over your shoulder some time in 2017 for consoles and the PC.
