The twelfth entry in the classic action series, Mega Man: Dual Override has revealed some fresh tidbits at the Gamescom event.
New Robot Masters and fresh gameplay for Mega Man
He’s back and looking darn sharp. Naturally, we’re talking about Mega Man, as Capcom’s blue bomber is rolling back into action for a whole new adventure. Mega Man: Dual Override will mark the twelfth outing for the long-lived hero, and bring what looks to be a host of new elements. If you’ve been waiting to see more, Capcom has you covered. The publisher has dropped a fresh trailer and all-new info for the game onto the European gaming show.
That includes the reveal of new Robot Masters like Twinkle Girl. Joining what’ll be a crew of eight, Twinkle Girl will sport an array of firework-based attacks. Those new Masters might have backup too, as Capcom says that some classic villains might be back. That includes Astro Man, who you can see briefly in the trailer below.
If that’s the case, then it’s a good thing that the blue bot will have some fresh tricks up his sleeve. Those include a “custom chip system”, as well as the title “Override” system. Working like a super-charge, Override can power-up attacks. It’s a tradeoff though, as once the effect wears off, the little guy will be vulnerable.
Along with that, he’s also got some backup of his own, in the form of Proto Man. Yep, the classic hero returns for another run at Doctor Wiley and his cadre of metallic miscreants.
Mega Man: Dual Override is heading to the Switch/Switch 2, PS4/PS5, XBOX One/XBOX Series X|S, and PC (via Steam, Epic, and Microsoft Store) some time in 2027. The game is up for wish listing right now, and you can check out the official site (here) for more.
Also worth noting, is if you have hankering to play some of the classics, is that there’s a sale ongoing. Select titles from the history of the franchise are discounted, across what sounds like multiple digital storefronts. So if you’re up for some older Mega-action, make sure to check that out.
