Revenge of the Savage Planet arrives for consoles and PC

Sci-fi sequel Revenge of the Savage Planet has arrived, bringing a planet-hopping adventure to console and PC players.

Sssssssssavage

Now, you might be thinking ‘didn’t this come out on Monday?’ And you’d be forgiven for that thought, since Revenge of the Savage Planet’s Cosmic Hoarder edition did indeed arrive then. But what we’re talking about today is the mass market, standard edition of the sci-fi game. And if you’ve been patiently awaiting that little arrival, well your day has come.

Revenge of the Savage Planet follows up on the original game with another foray into the untamed wilds of far away worlds. Fans will find both solo and co-op play available for this one, including the couch variety, plus a big change in that the action will be playable in either first or third person.

The new entry in the series will throw a four-pack (or might there be more?) of planets at would-be explorers, each stocked with their own “weird and wonderful plants and creatures”, according to the press release. It’s on those worlds that players will have to scan and catalog the above, plus engage in a little player-progression.

Oh yeah, and did we mention a crossover with Dave the Diver? He’s here too (in both editions of the game).

Playable in both singleplayer and co-op (couch and online), Revenge of the Savage Planet sees you abandoned on an alien planet with no job and no plan, after Alta Interglobal, your now former employer, deems your mission to colonise space too costly, leaving you to scavenge your way across four unique (and savage) planets in an attempt to return home.

As you jump, slide, and shoot your way across alien worlds, trying to put all thoughts of unfair dismissal aside, you’ll need to salvage what you can from the vibrant landscapes, craft equipment, capture abhorrent adorable critters, upgrade your gear, and scan every single thing as far as the eye can see on your intergalactic adventure.

Out now in both standard and Cosmic Hoarder editions, Revenge of the Savage Planet is available for the PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
