Return to the universe of Bethesda’s Starfield this month, in Shattered Space

The first big expansion is about to drop for Starfield, and Bethesda has released a special deep dive into what the pack is set to offer.

Expanding universe

Starfield was already absolutely massive. Sporting a galaxy to play in, Bethesda’s latest action-RPG offered genre fans a huge playground, along with loads of places to visit and explore, and plenty of action. But Starfield’s tale isn’t done just yet, and will see its first expansion land this very month.

Shattered Space is just that, bringing the secret homeworld of the game’s House Va’ruun to life for the first time. There players will find a House in disarray, and a new questline that sounds like it might be fairly deep.

In Shattered SpaceStarfield’s first major expansion, players will visit the homeworld of House Va’ruun for the first time. Explore a fully handcrafted new location and unravel the mysteries surrounding the followers of the Great Serpent. House Va’ruun is on the brink of collapse and their people need help finding a path forward. When your sudden presence on their hidden home planet is seen by some as divine intervention, it’s up to you to restore House Va’ruun and decide the fate of this secretive faction.

Bethesda press release

Shattered Space will be available to add onto the Xbox Series X|S and PC editions of Starfield on September 30th, 2024. If they so choose too, owners of the base version can grab the Premium Upgrade for access to the new pack, as well as “other digital items including Digital Art Book, Original Soundtrack, 1,000 Creation Credits, and the Constellation Skin pack”.
