Behold the Emperor’s angels in the new cinematic for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2

If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, then you’ll want to check out the new cinematic.

His sword and shield

We’ll admit, we’re a little bummed out that this new look at Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is just a cinematic. While we’ve gotten a heavy dose of gameplay in recent weeks, we just can’t seem to see enough of the game in action. It’s brutal, visceral, and bloody, and feels as ’40K’ as any other game under the franchise’s umbrella.

Still, today’s release does drop a beautiful animation on fans, one that should have longtime fans wanting to charge headlong into battle against the vile xenos. And that’s not to mention that it’s a trailer that also has a pretty big potential tease at its end.

Remember, the campaign in Space Marine 2 is one that focuses on the insect-like Tyranids, not the recurring threat of Chaos. And while the multiplayer does feature Marines vs Chaos Marines as a theme, to our knowledge it does not have swarms of Chaos daemons.

And yet… well, just watch the video.

Get ready for battle with Lieutenant Titus and his battle-brothers Chairon and Gadriel. These are the three playable characters of a fully co-op-enabled campaign, while custom-made Space Marine characters are playable in PvE missions and PvP battles across various modes—just a taste of all the carnage that awaits.

A few days remain for players to pre-order the Gold or Ultra Edition and secure the ability to play early up to four days before the game’s official release on September 9! Space Marine 2 will be available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with all editions available on each platform.

The Gold and Ultra Editions come with the Space Marine 2 Season Pass, which grants players additional cosmetics inspired by the glorious Space Marine Chapters of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Free updates for all players will add new missions, enemies, weapons, and much more after release.
