The Art of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will explore the game’s vision of 1579 Japan

Those looking to go all in on Assassin’s Creed Shadows will have a brand new art book to grab, right alongside the game.

Guess who’s back

Yep, if you guessed it’s Dark Horse with another art tome, you’d be on the money. The publisher is no stranger to the genre, and regularly produces some of the nicest entries in what’s become a never-ending exploration of all things video game. The latest title in that line to get the full treatment, is Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The open-world action game, landing this fall, will tell the tale of a ninja called Naoe and an African samurai who was inspired by real-world historical tales, named Yasuke. Shadows will mark the first time an historical figure will be playable in an AC game, even though Yasuke’s story will obviously be fictionalized. Both warriors will find themselves embroiled in a tumultuous time in Japan’s history, one that of course seems destined to be influenced by the Templars.

Look for Dark Horse’s book to cover all of that, complete with plenty of artwork and some words from the development team. The book will be arriving in twin editions, with both basic and Deluxe coming to market.

A detailed look at the deluxe edition of the book

Uncover the secrets behind Ubisoft’s latest Assassin’s Creed® adventure in The Art of Assassin’s Creed® Shadows. Dark Horse Books, in partnership with Ubisoft, presents a new full-color art book. Set in the world of the expansive Brotherhood, this new tome aims to satisfy and inspire shinobi assassins and samurais of all generations. The art book will arrive this fall in both a standard hardcover edition and a Deluxe Edition packed with extras. It features behind-the-scenes art and commentary from the game. The Deluxe Edition will feature bonus content, including a lavish decorative slipcase and a gallery-quality lithograph print, packed inside a displayable portfolio.

Dark Horse press release

Featuring a hardcover presentation and 256 pages of artwork and commentary, The Art of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is heading to stores just a few days after the game hits on November 15th. Fans should look for the book this November the 19th at booksellers, and at comic shops the very best day, on November 20th.

Pre-orders are up right now for both the base ($49.99 USD) and Deluxe Editions ($99.99 USD).
