Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 coming up, gets full reveal on June 9th

The Xbox Games Showcase is coming up fast, and so is the unveiling of Activision’s next Call of Duty, Black Ops 6.

Back in Black

Rumored for a few weeks now, this year’s Call of Duty game will indeed take players back into the extra-dark side of military operations, with Black Ops 6. Or at least, that’s the name for now, as this one’s being left intentionally mysterious at present. Aside from playing right into the general theme of Black Ops, the cloud of mystery is due to a special followup event which will look to flow right out of the Xbox Games Showcase, coming up on June 9th.

It should be quite the show too, as interest should be high, seeing that Black Ops hasn’t had a new entry in a while. That seems a tad odd to write actually, since the sub-series is pretty easily the most popular with fans outside of Modern Warfare, but Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War was the last game to see launch. Believe it or not, that game debuted back in 2020, so yeah, this is kind of a big return.

No doubt Black Ops 6 will have some presence in the Xbox Games Showcase as well, but as mentioned the game will also have a showcase all to itself. Look for that to take place right after the general Xbox spotlighting, in an event called Black Ops 6 Direct. It might be pretty full-featured too, as Activision promises a “full reveal”. So maybe campaign and multiplayer then?

The Xbox-action all begins at 10am pacific time, on June 9th. Til then, you can check out the teaser below, and click here to take a peek at the preview site.
