Heading towards launch, Hot Toys’ new ROTJ C-3PO gets a full unboxing from Sideshow

Hot Toys’ latest looks to be pretty easily one of the best looking C-3PO figures yet, ripped right from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Ohhh how horrid

Well, the beasts in Jabba’s dungeon are “horrid” anyway, as we are definitely not using that wording in regards to C-3PO here. Looking to be yet another hit for the toy-maker, Hot Toys’ heads back to the original trilogy for this new figure, depicting 3PO as he looked in the employ of one Jabba the Hutt.

Not only does this protocol droid come complete with metal parts and light-up (eye) effects, but he even come with Salacious Crumb.

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi, the C-3PO 1/6 Scale Figure by Hot Toys features an ultra-detailed mechanical design with diecast metal components. The figure is highly poseable with over 26 points of articulation, and is skillfully painted in metallic gold chrome with a silver right leg and weathered effects. This dutiful protocol droid also comes with realistic wires, LED light-up eyes, an interchangeable faceplate with a damaged eye, plus Jabba’s noxious pet Salacious Crumb™!

Improve the human cyborg relations in your Star Wars collection with the C-3PO 1/6 Scale Figure by Hot Toys. Available for pre-order now, via Sideshow.

Sideshow Toys press release

Though we’re getting an unboxing now, C-3PO looks to be a ways off yet. This new figure isn’t scheduled to start shipping until some time in the April – September timeframe, and yes, that means he’s still up for pre-order. Priced in at $329 USD, you can secure one for yourself by hitting the above links.
