Warhammer 40K: Space Marine gets a new look, and a late-2024 release date

One the one hand, it’s great to have a launch date for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. On the other, it’s not till September.

It might take that long to get all that armor on anyway

Good things take time, we all know that, and that’s what we’re hopefully seeing with Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. From Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment, the sci-fi action sequel was originally intended to launch this very year, before seeing a delay into 2024.

Now we know when the new release date is too, and it’s not any time soon. Instead, Saber will be taking quite a bit more time with the game, and delivering it (hopefully) next September. Yes, that’s almost a year off, but with how good this game is looking even now, we’re feeling like Focus and Saber can keep it cooking for as long as they need to.

“We are thrilled to finally reveal the release date for Space Marine 2. The entire team has poured their passion and creativity into this game, and we can’t wait for players to experience it at last. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re excited to share the fruits of our labor with players and the Warhammer 40,000 community,”

Tim Willits, COO, Saber Interactive

Prepare for the most satisfying and intense battle of 2024, continuing the story of legendary Space Marine Lieutenant Titus, voiced by Vikings and Taken star Clive Standen. Drive back the everlasting night solo or in up-to-three-player co-op in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s epic new campaign. Unleash the Ultramarines’ deadly arsenal and embody the unwavering brutality of the Emperor’s greatest warriors to protect Humanity from the untold horrors of the galaxy, including the dark forces of Chaos!

Focus Entertainment press release

Yeah, so that looks great, and the new wait to crush the Tyranid Swarm is undoubtably going to be brutal for Warhammer fans. Nevertheless, at least there’s an end date now, and it’s not like it’s years off either. As you can see too, at the close of that video, the Collector’s Edition is still up for pre-order, and it also looks like there’s a beta test inbound.

Just when that’ll be is still unrevealed, though you can sign up as of right now to get a chance to play ahead of retail launch. Speaking of, and if you skipped the trailer for some reason, that magical date will be on September 9th, 2024. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 will hit stores then, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
