Strategy title Gord gets a creep-tacular trailer, as game drops with launch discount ( and demo)

Slavic myth and legend comes to life with strategic, dark fantasy title Gord. Check out the launch look, plus grab it at a discount.

Out of your Gord

Fair warning, this is a helluva sad launch trailer. Backed by a haunting tune (with lyrics displayed in English), the trailer showcases a grim group of men making their way through a foreboding forest, while a woman folds clothing back in their village. But everything is a little off, and as it turns out it’s very off.

The short is dark, twisted, and showcases the evil that players will be up against as they try to ward off the dark and survive.

Created by a team that includes former Frostpunk and The Witcher 3 developers, Gord is a single-player dark fantasy strategy game where, to survive, you must build, but to prevail, you must conquer the darkness beyond the gates. Complete life-threatening quests in a dark fantasy world while managing a populace whose personal stories and well-being can decide the fate of your tribe.

Team17 press release

Disturbing enough for you? Ready to dig in and try to turn the tide in the dark-fantasy realm of Gord? Well, if so you’re in luck. The horror title has a 40% off sale happening right now and it’ll run through November 2nd, so if you’ve been thinking about grabbing a copy, now’s the time.

If you’re not sure though, then you still have a pretty nice… offering on hand, in the form of a demo. There’s no word on what that bite-sized chunk of Gord actually includes, but it should give players a decent feel for what the full game entails.

All of the above is a part of PC gaming platform Steam’s Scream Fest, which is happening right now for the Halloween season. That’s not to say that Gord is a Steam exclusive though, as the game is also available now via GOG, plus the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
