Dark Horse celebrates NYCC and Halloween with variant for The Headless Horseman Annual

It’s going to be a spooktacular time at NYCC (and elsewhere too) thanks to Dark Horse’s The Headless Horseman Annual.

Dark Horse loses its head

Okay so this is actually more of a Halloween-themed variant than strictly an NYCC one. Dark Horse Comics has just revealed its new cover for The Headless Horseman Halloween Annual though, and it will be in attendance at the big show.

But while that’s true, it’ll also be appearing as a part of The Famous Monsters Festival in Pennsylvania. If you don’t know what that is, just think Halloween-palooza… and maybe actor/writer David Dastmalchian too.

On Friday the 13th, fans are invited to join Dark Horse and David Dastmalchian for one night only at The Famous Monsters Festival in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The Famous Monsters Festival is a horror, sci-fi, and fantasy themed convention that brings the world’s top genre celebrities and vendors to fans. Dastmalchian will have a Q & A panel at 7pm, and Dark Horse will have a table with comics available for purchase, including The Headless Horseman Halloween Annual 2023 limited edition variant, as well as Dastmalchian’s Count Crowley Volumes 1 and 2, and more treats.

Dark Horse Comics press release

While the above might be more of a regional event, NYCC definitely isn’t. The mega-con kicks off tomorrow, October 12th, and horror fans will find the special variant edition of the Headless Horseman Halloween Annual at cover-artist Phillip Sevy’s Artists Alley table. That’ll be #B10 in the special artist-centric section of the Con.

Copies will be priced at $20 each, with a limit of two per person. But don’t fret if you can’t make it to either locale, because while the emphasis is on the above shows, you’ll also be able to order a copy online. It’s not available just yet, you’ll be able to buy one of the variant editions via Dark Horse Direct’s online shop some time soon.
