Marvel set to game things up with Spider-Man 2 variant covers

Marvel is setting up to celebrate the launch of the PS5’s Spider-Man 2 game this month, with some variant covers.

Enter the Spider-Verse

One of the neatest things about the original Spider-Man video games on the PS4, and it was amongst a myriad of neat things, were the costume assortments. More or less a staple in Spidey games going way back, the assortment of available costumes for the web-head in these new titles was awesome. It included both inter-dimensional versions of the classic suit and canon variants, with a little something to uh… suit every taste.

That bonus will of course be back for Spider-Man 2, as fans will get to deck Peter or Miles out in a ton of super-heroic togs. And with that built-in ‘variant’ material readily available, you better believe Marvel Comics will be ready to make use of it.

Fans will see the result of that by way of a slate of variant covers, gracing Spider-branded books in November and December. Expect to see a whole bunch of them, spread out across multiple issues of Amazing, Miles Morales, Venom, Superior, and Gang War.

While they don’t have any action depicted, the covers do nicely showcase the collection of costumes in the hotly-anticipated sequel, ripped right from the screen.
