Straight from the State of Play PS5 event, here’s the latest look at Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Continuing to look like a marquee title, Ubisoft’s released a brand new look at Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s story.

Into the frontier

Movie-worlds don’t come too much more attention-grabbing than Pandora. The planet that the Avatar films take place on is almost a fantasy world, complete with impossible creatures and floating islands, that rest high above lush tropical jungles and beachheads.

For the first time, much of that will be coming to video games, courtesy of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The open-world title will give players an unprecedented feel for Pandora, through the eyes of a Na’vi who was abducted by humans, then left to fend for herself.

In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, you will play as a Na’vi who was abducted as an infant by the RDA and trained in The Ambassador Program (TAP) to serve human interests on Pandora. When the RDA evacuated Pandora during the Battle of the Hallelujah Mountains (as seen in the first Avatar movie), you were put into emergency cryosleep. You wake up 15 years later, finally free from the RDA, but lost and unfamiliar with your home world.

So from the looks of it, you’ll get a little bit of everything in Frontiers of Pandora. From becoming a member of a tribe to bonding with a Banshee, players will get to explore everything that set the film universe apart. And of course, that includes battling a force of humans, who it seems will become a problem for the Pandorans once again.

All of the above will be coming to the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC this Holiday season, landing on December 7th, 2023.
