Rise of the Triad gets Ludicrous on consoles next month

The most all-encompassing edition of Rise of the Triad yet is coming to consoles in September, with the Ludicrous Edition.

Still Ludicrous after all these years

Okay, technically Rise of the Triad Ludicrous Edition has only been out (on the PC) for a few months at this point, but the game it expands upon has been around for decades. One of what most FPS fans would probably consider the ‘best’ shooters of all time, RotT predates even some of the biggest icons of the genre.

While developer Nightdive Studios’ Ludicrous Edition re-presents that original game, it does so with tweaks and updates, plus adds a bunch more content. If you know Nightdive, and the company’s excellent track record with remasters, this is pretty much right in line.

And if you’ve been dying t try it but had no access to a PC to play it on, then you’re going to want to check out the new console version.

For the first time in ROTT history, gear up for all-out carnage on consoles and experience the trailblazing ‘90s FPS as never played before – with a controller! Run and gun across newly added multiplayer maps, and enjoy modern comforts like revamped 4K graphics, increased FOV, and cloud saves.

Gear up and take aim as an operative of the High-Risk United Nations Task-Force (codenamed H.U.N.T.) on a top-secret investigation off the California coast. Select from five elite soldiers armed with distinct abilities and stats, and stamp out shadowy cult activity wreaking havoc on Los Angeles.

Apogee Entertainment press release

Get ready to route some cultists, when Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition lands on Xbox and PlayStation platforms, as well as the Nintendo Switch, this September the 29th.
